Not many people can say they have never had a bad day. Brandon Clark finds the good in each one. That comes from knowing his pulse. His reason for being on earth: “I’m here to help others live purpose-filled lives.” A former Kansas State University football player, Brandon leveraged his education degree to become Derby High School head football coach at only 25 years of age. His goal: turn around a 0-9 program. Boy did he. He has led Derby to six state championships in the past eight years and built a fanbase that turns out by the thousands. Developing a strong, purpose-driven culture didn’t just help the football program achieve at an incredibly high level – it has helped sustain those winning ways. Brandon applies these lessons learned to the One Degree Compass program. Helping people go beyond the never-ending pursuit of happiness to something lasting. To finding fulfillment. Through purpose.
Kevin Chase hails from a four-generation ranching family that has been in the banking business for five decades. He knows the value of community and helping people thrive. After earning degrees from Kansas State University and Colorado’s Graduate School of Banking, he steadily rose in his career, becoming president of Verus Bank in 1993 and its chairman and CEO in 2004. Kevin built a culture that led Verus to become a top-rated bank in 1993. In subsequent years, even during recessions, it maintained that designation, an unheard-of performance. Verus merged in 2018. Kevin continues to serve on the bank’s board and loan committee, but now has the time to take his career in a different direction. To build upon the culture coaching he’d been providing to Derby High School’s football team. He’d seen young lives change and the team win like never before. He partnered with the team’s coach so they could expand their program to companies and organizations seeking transformation. Kevin’s knows his pulse and that is to care for others. Once you meet him, you will instantly fall in love with his message and personality.
